Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The last time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson faced off, roughly a year-and-a-half ago, it was the former that emerged with the win. Though many thought Gustafsson might’ve had him, the judges granted Jones a unanimous victory.
The odds last time around, however, were even more in favor of Jones, with Gustafsson laying anywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they are so close now around speaks to how well he fared in the very first meeting, while also nodding towards how much he has improved his fast-twitch stamina.
Nevertheless, Jones, who hasn’t fought 17 months, has mostly dominated everyone he has come across in the Octagon. This fight should take more gasoline than he’s accustomed to using up, but he should pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
